PAGEANT MAKEUP MAKEOVER!

I am honored and excited, Miss Delaware USA Ambassador, Shaina Millan chose me to do her hair and makeup for her last event!  I can not thank her enough for being so sweet!  Not only is she a beauty Queen but she is also Active Duty Military.  A member of the United States Marine Corps!  Basically a bad ass with brains, strength, and both inner and outer beauty!

With Shaina's permission I am posting her before photos and behind the scenes images of the Sunday night's makeup look I did using ink...cosmetics.

Think about your stage presence when creating a look for Pageants.  This means you should ink... up your look even more because the lights tend to wash you out while on stage.  The look I did for Shaina was simple!

GET THE LOOK:

STEP 1 ~ Hair!  Smooth out all wavy areas of your hair.  Shaina has a classic Hispanic curl like me.  So, the CHI is our best friend for taming the frizz and curl.  You want to make sure your hair is sleek before starting your style.

STEP 2 ~ Curl hair with a 1inch curling iron and the pin curls in place for later.  This helps hold the curl longer.

STEP 3 ~ Makeup:  Start with a clean face! Prime and moisturize.

STEP 4 ~ Apply concealer under the eyes and anywhere you need special coverage.  Then, using ink...cosmetics foundation stick(s), one lighter than your complexion and one slightly darker, apply the light stick on the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheek bones, and chin.  Add the darker foundation on the sides of your nose and under your cheek bones to help contour.  Make sure you BLEND!  Then add two powders, one light  and one dark, to the same areas.  Leave this on until you are done with the eyes.

STEP 5 ~ Eyes:  Add ink...cosmetics shadow base; which helps prevent creasing.  Eye shadow colors:  Bronze, gold and cream.  I applied the bronze directly on the lash line and patted it upward stopping on the brow bone.  Then, added a matte gold color on directly under the brow and topped it with a matte cream colored shadow.  Using a fluff shadow brush I blended the bronze outward for a more natural look.

Next, line the eyes with a liquid liner on the top lash line only.  Then, apply a natural full lash, (demi lash style is best) with black adhesive.  Line on top again with liquid liner and smoke out with black shadow.  Add a jet black pencil eyeliner to the inner rim of your top and bottom waterline.  Brush away all the powder and add mascara.

STEP 6 ~ Define eyebrows using shadow and a brow wax by ink...cosmetics.

STEP 7 ~ Line lips with a flesh tone lip liner that is slightly darker than your natural tone.  Top with a pink lip gloss.

STEP 8 ~ Apply a peach/pink blush right under the cheek bone.

STEP 9 ~ Add a little natural powder all over the face to set everything in place.

STEP 10 ~  Undo the curls, brush out, tease up, and spray just enough hair spray that your head is bullet proof but still bouncy!

FINISHED and ready for your CROWN and SASH!  XOXO Besos!  Special thanks to Shaina Millan for all your support and allowing me to post your unedited images! ;-)
