Get the Makeup Look! - Tribute to the late Elizabeth Taylor!

Last week I (ink...cosmetics) had the privilege to work with my new Partner, W Salon Staff for Nina Snow's Trunk Show featuring one of my favorite Designers and friend Tsyndyma! He fashions graced the L2 Lounge in Georgetown. We had a wonderful time and I was asked my inspiration for the look. Of course after speaking to Tsyndyma we decided a through back to the 1940's would be great. I left hair up Sue Tang Lawhorn, Manager and Hair Master at the W Salon in Burke, VA and I unfortunately Elizabeth Taylor passed the same day of the event so I could not pick a better glamazon makeup look for our fabulous models.

Get the Makeup Look!

1. Clean and moisturize your face.

2. Apply primer.

3. Conceal under your eye and add green corrector to any red or pink areas of your face.

4. Apply ink…cosmetics HD foundation stick to the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. Blending upward using a foundation brush. Dab foundation on any other areas needing extra coverage.

5. Pat on shadow base to the eyelid.

6. Using a wide shadow brush pat on a vanilla mauve shimmer shadow all over the eye. Start at lash line and pat upward to ending under the brow.

7. Use another wide shadow brush and pat on a shimmer bronze shadow on the outer corner of your eye. Be sure to blend well.

8. Line the lash line with ink…cosmetics jet black eyeliner. Smudge the liner for more natural look.

9. Use dark lash glue and apply a full lash strip on the eyes. Make sure your cut the lash strip to fit your client’s eye.

10. Blend real lashes with false lashes using ink…cosmetics jet black mascara. Pinch lashes together while mascara is still wet with tweezers.

11. Add eyeliner under the top lash waterline. This will make the lashes appear bold and more realistic.

12. Add a cream colored eye liner on the bottom lash waterline. This will whiten eyes and pop them out a little more. Add a burnt red/bronze shadow with a small shadow brush under the bottom lash line. This creates a shadow and really brings out your eyes. Finish the eye look by applying a tad of mascara on the bottom lashes.

13. Add contour under the cheek bones using a darker powder or brownish matte shadow.

14. Apply brush on the apples of the cheeks.

15. Line your lips with ink…cosmetics lip liner in Tabasco and fill them in for a long lasting effect. Top with matching matte lipstick. Erase any mess-ups with a q-tip and apply foundation for a perfect finish.

16. Last, complete the look with a 40’s hair style and classic couture dress! Then go out and have fun!
