FIT FOODS: Oatmeal Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Protein Bars
  • 2 cups Uncooked Old Fashioned/Quick Oats
  • 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter
  • 4 Scoops Protein Powder (I used ON Whey Vanilla Ice Cream)
  • 4 tbls Milled Flax Seed
  • 1/2 cup water

I warmed up my PB in the microwave for a few seconds to get it loose but other than that just combine everything in a bowl and mix well.
Then press it into a baking pan or other square dish and put in the fridge or freezer for about a half hour.  You can put a little water on your fingers before pressing so it doesn’t stick to you.  Take the pan out of the freezer, cut the mixture into 8 or more bars, and wrap each individually or put in snack bags.  Done!
I’m leaving mine in the freezer since they were still a little sticky but the fridge is fine as well.
Next time I may add some dried fruit to change it up some.
This recipe makes about 8 bars

INSANITY DAY 3 of 60

Hey Everyone,

Day 3 of Insanity was rough! I was hoping for a little break. That didn't happen! The workout is about 40 minutes long. The warm up is similar to the Plometric Cardio Circuit with jog in place, then to power jack squat move, log jumps, 123-123, some butt kicks, high knees and vertical jumps. Next is a stretch workout, power jumps, belt kicks followed with some kind of squat with alternating kick move. I could go on and on. Bottom line, I can't feel my butt, and I am sure my triceps are done tomorrow too. The tricep ball pushup was a weird exercise move but worked out the triceps more than I expected.

I don't have a heart monitor but I am seriously thinking about getting one. I am enterested in how many calories I am burning each session as well. If any of you know a good inexepensive brand please send a comment. Okay, I am scheduling a message tomorrow afternoon! Until next time. Pray for me! :-)

INSANITY DAY 2 of 60

Day 1 was so much nicer. :-) No really, I can't feel my a$$ right now. Day 2 was Plyometric Cardio Circuit, about 42 minutes of craziness. LOL! Kidding it was great. My body feels alive again. I am extremely sore and found out...out of shape. I can honestly say I have never done cardio like this before. It's extreme. You can work at your pace though. Just take a break when you need it but DON'T QUIT! Get a partner. It is so much easier when you have in your face support. My partner... the love of my life! Love you Papi!

INSANITY DAY 1 of 60

FOR THE LOVE OF short skirts, skinny jeans, and flat abs! I started INSANITY yesterday and have decided to input my progress on my blog. If not for your entertainment...for my own SANITY. HA! Well, honestly I figure I will finally stick to it if I am forced (my choosing) to write it out for my fans.

The program instructor named "Shaun T" is pretty decent. I like that he does the workouts with you. This program is definitely not for the weak or lazy. It demands YOUR 110% inner muscle man or woman. Great for the cardio freak! Love it so far. Seems a little easier to do then the P90X. You don't need to work about equipment. The main machine is YOU!

Here is what I did on day one...

DAY 1 "Fit Test"

Switch Kicks 51
Power Jacks 40
Power Knees 72
Power Jumps 23
Globe Jumps 7
Suicide Jumps 8
Push-Up Jacks 12
Low Plank Oblique 40

Okay...So, I am suppose to do this again in 2 weeks to check my progress. I was exhausted. You do as many of each exercise in 1 min each. You get quick break in between so don't worry it's not straight through.

I am excited about tomorrow. We will see how this works out. I am committed and ready to get back to my size 4-6. OH YEAH! Besos everyone! Wish me luck.

XOXO
